i have a tunnel ram with two holley carbs on it. The choak horns are cut off. Will this make starting a pain? any reliabilty concerns i should consider on this? i plan on driving it fairly regulary. thanks.

Milled are horns are the least of your problems if you try to run a tunnel ram on the street especially in cold weather.

I don't see it being a problem at all. I ran a tunnel ram for years with 2 600 vac. sec. Holleys. I removed all the related choke parts, and never had a problem. Was an 8.25 compression 454 in a 70 Chevelle that ran 12.000 @110 MPH
Drove great on the street, just had to nurse it along till it warmed up.

That's all. Give it PLENTY of gas to start it and you may have to keep the accelerator pump squirting a bit for the first minute. And wait until the engine gets some temp in it. I don't run chokes on a 3X2, and it is a pain, but....

Pump the gas a few times before turning the key then feather the gas till she's warmed up, trying to run the car when the engine is cold will be problems. In really cold weather you'll have carburetor icing problems from the cold air entering the carb and nothing in the way of a heat crossover to warm it up. Here in the UP the temps get to 20 degrees below zero, chokes are required, tunnel rams won't work well below 40 degrees. Bob
