Ok let say in the future I deciede to add a little juice. What Top and Second Ring End Gap would you recommend if I was to run a little shot of N2O, let's say 100-150 Max. I have the bottom end set up with all 4340 forge parts to handle the N20, but I don't want the incorrect ring gap to be the cause of blowing my engine.
My other clearance are:
Top Ring End Gap: .016
Second Ring End Gap: .014
Rod Side Clearance: .022
Thrust Bearing: .005
Pistons to Bore: .005
Main Bearing: .002
*Rod Bearing:.0015-002
* The main and rod clearances was set using
plastic-gage and did not come exact for each clearance.

No expert here, but I bet you'll be fine with a 100hp shot and .016 top ring gap. Stock motors take it fine without opening up the gaps. .016 is the recomended gap for a stock type build and I'm sure it is conservative to make sure the riings don't butt. I set the top gaps on my son's 327 at .014 According to the older manuals I have .012-.013 was the recomended gap on 327's years ago. A mag did an article awhile back where they closed the gaps in small incriments and power was gained until they finally made them too tight and the rings butted. I guess piston design and material also effect ring gap--higher ring placement make the rings run hotter and high silicon alloys also run hotter from what I've read. Bob
