Anyone running this set-up? I'd imagine you'd need some narrow feeler gauges to set lash, but other than that, are there any issues?

Not yet. See my web site for details.

Tens of thousands of miles since installation.

And very few lash adjustments. Many checks, few adjustments.

cj... are you using the HOT cam springs and retainers with a solid? How's that working out?

I have some late model Iron L98 heads w/ LT4 HOT cam springs / retainers that I bought from a thirdgen guy that was running that cam kit. I want to use them with a Comp 270S, but I am not sure if they are up to the task.

Mine are LT4 springs and retainers, but I don't know if they're the same as the HOT cam setup. They may be.

They're said to handle up to .525 lift on a roller with no valve float up to 6500.

I've spun mine up to 7000 a few times with no noticeable issues, but I'm nowhere near .525 lift.

I don't think the 270S has that much lift either, but I'm not looking at the specs.

All I can say is that you have to check everything over and over to be sure. Even then, hope for some luck. I have good luck with mechanical things, so I'll take a chance here and there. ;)

Those are the springs/retainers I am using. The lift isn't the issue so much as seat pressure. The LT4 springs look a bit light at 101# @ 1.75" installed height. However, if they work, they work! smile.gif

There may be a better choice, but these do the job for me.

I'm not looking for that extra 1/100th of a second in the 1/4. I'm just out for a good time.

It works for me.
