I am trying to figure out what radio came in my car. The loom is out of the car as I am in the middle of a frame off. I tried looking for the plug that goes on the radio but can't seem to find one. Either it is cut or I don't know what I am looking for. There is a small loom of wires about where the radio harness should be that is cut. Can someone tell what colors the wires should be and how to decipher what the car had for a radio by which wires are there?

FM, no. 8 track, yes.

I attached the below pic from the above mentioned thread- not my harness. I checked my harness this morning and there are four wires; black, yellow, grey, and brown coming out of the loom and into the plug which looks the same as in the pic below. The plug is attached to a female plug with three wires black, yel, grey. The wires go about 8" and then are cut. Is this 3 wire loom the actual radio harness. If so, will it work with any chevelle '72 radio? I basically only need an AM because I want a cd radio hidden in the glove box which will used for normal listening.

Yes. Black is ground, yellow is power, grey is dash lamps power.
