Has anyone run a Weiand 142 pro-street blower? This is part WND-6510-1. Did you like it? How was fit and installation? I would appreciate any info you can give me. This is going in my 56 Belair with 305 (garbage). Partly for looks and also for the power boost with the stock engine thats in it now. Later I will upgrade the engine, probably to a 383, but will keep the blower on.

KJ, I love my B&M 144 (almost identical to the weiand). I have had it about a year now and first put it on a relatively mild 350. The car went from mid 13's to 12.7 with almost no changes and on street radials.

This summer I had a bit of bad luck and had some carb parts trash the motor/blower so I got a bit more serious and built a 383 and put the B&M 144 back on it. I am still in the process of tuning the combo but today I ran a best of 11.72 @ 115mph. This is on 93 Octane and just letting some air out of the drag radials after driving to the track. One guy at the track has a similar B&M 144 set up in a Nova running high 10's.

If I had to do it again I prob would have bought the Weiand 177 for some more breathing room (more air, less boost) up top. I love the looks, it all fits under the factory cowl induction hood, and they can really make a relatively mild street motor perform very nicely indeed. I believe super chevy recently made 600HP with the Weiand 177 on thier Danger Mouse 355 (http://www.superchevy-web.com/tech/0307sc_dm10/) which I used as a guide when researching my motor.

Good luck, and let me know if you have more specific questions.
