Just finished up rebuilding the front end and installing disc brakes on a 67 chevelle. When I went to hook up the braided flex lines, the banjo bolts that came with the lines are too big for the calipers. The banjo bolts that came on the calipers (not chrome in color) fit through the line, but are a little smaller in diameter that the ones that came with the braided lines, not much but smaller, but they fit the caliper (when hand tight the bolt head lack about a 1/8" of touching the outside edge of the opening where the banjo bolt goes through.

Two questions here: 1) is the diameter of the smaller banjo bolt a issue; 2) when tightened down should the banjo bolt pull up that 1/8"?

While I would like the chrome banjo bolts, I am tired of having to order small parts and wait a week to finish one thing before I go to the next and if the banjo bolts that came in the calipers will work then forward I go.

Any help here?

Thanks
Larry

Larry is the 1/8" with or without the copper gaskets installed? The only thing I can suggest is to tighten them up and check for leaks.

remember, a copper gasket goes on both sides of the fitting on the end of the brake line. if it tightens up with both copper gaskets in there, then run it.

My mistake for not putting that in my first post. That is with a washer on each side of the line. I figure the hole in the caliper might have a slight taper to it and that is why the banjo bolt only goes that far with hand tightening.
