got the rev limiter set at 6200. the recall tach never goes over 6000. there is also a slight miss when it hits 6000. im assuming im into the limiter (hope its not valve float). what would you trust for the actual RPM the engine is seeing? the tach, or the limiter. valve float was at 6450 on the dyno. dont want to get close to that RPM. is there anyway to check one against the other? thanks Dave

I have heard that msd pills are actually a little higher that actual rpm. For instance a 6k pill will limit the engines revs at 5750-5850 6,200 at 5950-6050 etc. Dunno if its gospel, but given what you're experiencing I think it might be somewhat the truth. Maybe put in a lower pill at like 5500 or something and see if it does a similar thing at or around 5300?

actually the digital 6 has a dial in limiter. just turn the dial to the desired rpm.

Easy way to find out.
Swap a bigger pill and see if it
stutters at the same rpm.
