I am going to replace the harmonic balancer on my 66, how good are the TCI rattler and Fluiddampr balancers? The engine is a 396/325hp. Are they better than stock? Originality is not a concern.

The two balancers you mentioned are considered the best available street/strip harmonic dampers on the market. I use the Fluidamper unit which along with the TCI, these two are built to stay virtually bullet proof.

From what I understand, GM makes a 'higher performance' balancer but I do not know what they call it or the part number. It may be worth checking into if you are on a budget because the better balancers will cost $300+. Have fun with your choice http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
