Well, after 8 months of work I'm finally sorted and headed back to the track. I took it out a month ago only to discover I had the wrong converter (2000 stall vs the 4000 I ordered), and that my trans was slipping real bad from 2-3. Got the converter re-stalled and new trans so I'm hoping to go deep in the 11s or maybe even eek into the tens. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out!

Your combo looks very promising! What gears are you running with the converter?

A 2k RPM stall is near stock and tight! I bet from 1st to 2nd shift it really barks the tires hard. Having a super tight converter in a big inch motor that makes serious power could cause more damage than anything. Thats what happened to me twice from a stock converter in a 455 torque monster pontiac. Learned my lesson.

Chief,

I'm now running a 4000 rpm stall and 3.73 gears. That 2000 stall did bark the tires some, but the trans was tired. Plus my motor doesn't really come on till 4000, so it was dead off the line. I ran a tenth slower with the new combo (105 more RWHP) with that 2000 stall. The new trans is much better and should make a world of difference at the track.

I'll post the results
