Anyone know what a stock, 11:1 LS6 puts to the rear wheels? With headers and/or with factory exhaust manifolds-trying to get a good baseline. Thanks.

Probably pretty low - maybe 275-300. Those net hp figures from the 60s-early 70s are pretty inflated.

I remember seeing an article a couple of years ago in (I believe) in Muscle Car Review were they built a 1970 LS-6 to oem specs. It pulled right at 450hp on the engine dyno.

I have an old "Cars" magazine from the early 70's where they tuned an LS-6 on a chassis dyno. I remember 330 hp at the wheels but can't remember if that was before or after the tuning.

Hey Chris,

I don't remember, but was that figure with cast iron exhaust manifolds or was that with headers?

even 330 RWHP seems low for a bone stock LS6, considering bias ply tires & approx. 3900 lbs., that could run about 13.12 @ 107.01 (http://www.musclecarclub.com//) A new c5 Corvette weighing aprrox. 3500-3600 lbs., rated @ 350 RWHP
can't do much better than that

Suspension...corvettes are set up to handle not really launch from the factory...and it really can do better than that...people running in 12's stock or with the z06 just changing the airbox people are getting 11.7's
