Welcome to ASCII. It has been around for decades. Its a little bit of a pain to draw using them though...

Yes.. I used to be a member of several BBs's when I lived in Souther California. My first modem was a 300baud and downloaded data to a tape recorder using a Texas Instruments Computer.. TI-99-4A Giving my age away? I am only 32, is that bad. I think I just got into computer at a young age.

Interesting for degrees as ALT 248 does this °, º (this is ALT 167) Very close but slight difference.

Comp-U-Serve!

haha, not quite.

More like boards running WWIV or wildcat software. There was a rather large CNET based BBS i was on here in buffalo. 20+ lines. THE BBS in this area at the time. Blue Moon it was called. Members used to meet in person every friday for coffee and chat. Now Blue Moon is an ISP in the area. Sad, really. I remember back in early 90's when I caught an ex SysOp on his fax line after I tried to reach his board only to find he had canned it due to low usage.

I found this nifty site... should explain things for people who never got into the scene.

Man I miss those times. You can still find WWIV boards here and there with telnet access, but it's just not the same anymore.

Thats what I remember, then major bbs came out, and offered chat rooms.
