Got 10 runs in today but couldn't break in to the 11's. Launching around 3500 rpm's. If I go up I spin. Down I bog. Had fun 12.01, 12.02, 12.04, 12.06, 12.09 then few beyond when I spun or bogged. I varied the air pressure from 14 to 19 psi. Had fun only one more chance weather permitting next Sunday.

I'm guessing its a stick car? What gears? ah the elusive 11's, I broke thru that 2-3 years ago, heading for 10's n/a next year. You can do it :D

with that comb 11's should be a breeze, are you slamming the gears like lightning or doing that slower type shifting? TRY not letting off the gas and yank that baby into each gear...i use to love that back in the late 70's...

Absolutely, floor it at the launch. Let up at the trap. Slamming as fast as I can. Nothing but fun!!

Put in 10 more runs Sunday. Still didn't crack the 11's. Best was a 12.005 ET. Bettered the 60' a bit with lengthier burnout in third gear. I had a best 1.749 but inadvertently jerked it out of 1st in the excitement. I did put the CE shocks in the front set at 80/20 and put a 50/50 mix of 93 and 110 octane with timing at 36.6. Temperature was 65 and sunny with slight cross wind. Pulling the wheels on the launch on the drivers but the wall was blocking my video on the passenger side. Track closed up for the winter so all a got is some video and 6 months to improve something.

Have you had the car on a dyno yet? I have a 511 in my 68', hoping for 11.50 on motor. Made 540hp on engine dyno. Finishing wiring and fuel now. I'll have to wait till next year too. graemlins/sad.gif

Stupid as this may sound, but have you ever tried using just second, third and forth??

Barely haze your tires outta the hole AND nail her big time to see what she will do..

I guess what I am trying to say is just spin her like three feet and hop outta the hole using grunt alone..

Just curious to know if you have a schosh too much gear is all??? Probably depends on your slicks overall diameter??

Come back..

No on the DYNO. I've never priced them but I'm sure they are aound here in central Ohio. What would I expect for $$$$?

Yes on the 93 octane. This was the first time I tried the mix.

Also no on the 2, 3, 4th. Thought of it but never tried it. The slicks are the Hoosier 29X9X15.

try to just make the stage light flicker when you stage, this will improve your ET.
What do you shift at?

Rock68SS
Nov 10th, 04, 6:56 AM
I'll keep the just flicker strategy in mind next year.
I shift normally at 5800-6000 but it seems when I stretch it to 6200-6400 I lose a little bit.
