What have you done to your car. I'm looking to have my 70 chevelle run like your 71 does. I saw your video graemlins/thumbsup.gif . What your motor setup. Or if you dont mind tell me about your car. I like the wheels a lot.

Thanks for the kind words! (name)
I have done ALOT to this car over the last 2-3 years. The car has undergone a body off restification. All new Polygraphite front end, new poly body bushings. Hotchkis lowering springs, and upper trailing arms. Bilstein shocks all the way around. Replaced quarters, replaced both front fenders all with Goodmark repo pieces (it helps to live close to the factory!). Fresh coat of GM75 Torch Red Sikkens paint. The wheel s are Intro Pentia's 17"x8" front 17"x10" rear with Nitto 555r tires. The engines specs are:
1971 402 bored .040 over (410 CI)
1971 GM 063 Closed heads 2.19 Intake 1.72 exhaust
Flow #'s @ 600 Intake 298 exhaust 205
Static Compression Ratio 9.48:1
Combustion chamber: 100cc
6223 cross drilled crank
1.72 comp cams rockers
Comp Cams xe284H 110 lsa
matching springs retainers etc.
Eagle I-beam Forged rods
Speed Pro forged 10:1 pistons
Edelbrock RPM airgap
Holley 4160 750cfm carb.
1.75" long tube headers into 2.5" H-pipe exhaust
700-r4 transmission with 2700 stall
12 bolt rearend Auburn posi with 3.73 gears
The interior is the original buckets recovered in custom leather.
That's about all I can think of. Again, Thanks for the kind words.

Steve,
Did you have your heads ported or did you do them yourself? Do have more flow data on your heads?
The reason I'm asking is on my 454 I'm running a set of home ported, big valved open chamber 049's. I have a virgin set of 063's sitting on my garage floor that I was considering re-working and installing to bump my CR up from about 10:1 to about 10.6-10.7:1 depending on final chamber size. I think with my camshaft I could use and get away with more CR but I did not want to give up any flow.
Any flow numbers that I have seen here (and other boards) on oval port closed chamber and open chamber seem to be pretty close. I wonder if I would really give up any flow at all switching to a set of closed chamber heads.
Thanks in advance.

Darren,
The heads were done by the engine builder Lamar Walden. We installed 2.19 Intakes valves and left the 1.72 exhaust valves. There was minor porting to unshroud the valves and they were port matched to my Airgap intake. Nothing radical, just a good 5 angle valve job and the minor cleanup after the new valves. I don't believe you will lose any flow by going to the 063's except in the high end of the rpm range. I never spin mine more that 6000 so I would never see the benefit of a larger head.

I also run a 410 (.040) over 402.
Same setup as Steve except for a mild solid roller cam. Same Trans., rear gear...
Times in the signature.
