I'm leaning towards back halfing my Camino, probably using a ladder bar setup, and putting in a 10-point cage. What I'm wondering is if anybody knows of a company sellin the frame extensions to tie in up near the firewall. My frame is rotted under the cowl (big suprise), and I thought of just hacking it off there. The other option is to do a full 2x3 chassis with mustang 2 style a-arm front, still bolting to factory body mounts. I will likely only minitub, as I intend to run in a local 10.5 tire class. I also plan to reuse my stock width 12 bolt. Do any of the chassis companies make a 'kit' like what I'm talking about? Or am I going to have to do it all on my own?

You could buy the 2" x 3" x .090" (?? ) tube at a metal supply shop.

I'm sure S & W, Comp Eng., Chassis Eng, or any of the others will have kits available close to what you want.

The problem I had with prebent frame rails is that your stuck with the rail height and design that " they " think you need. The bends sure are a lot prettier than cutting notches to make the bends, but that way the rails will be shaped the way YOU want them.

So you have done this? Where did you tie into your frame at? Any pics?

I have done a couple of backhalfs, I've only replaced the frame from behind the doors rearward basically, it would'nt be that hard to replace the center section. Definetly more work involved, but if you can do the backhalf, you can replace the center section.

I sent you an email. I do have pics of when I did my car.

I would also consider going to a rear end thats narrower than stock, use more backspacing on the rims.
