I know all to well about the problems with long tube headers and ground clearance issues, as well as spark plug wire and chassis fit, so I was wondering if anyone can tell me how the shorty headers fit and if any brand is better than another. I plan on the tremec 5 spd later on so the headers need to clear the clutch linkage. Thanks!

I think I'd stick with exhaust manifolds vs. shorty headers, from what I've seen in other cars, not much performance gain and alot less headaches. Send them to Jet Hot and have them coated.

I have looked for shorty headers for a customer and I haven't found a set yet that will clear the clutch linkage that mounts on the block.

I went with the shorty headers from Headman Headers. These are the Elite series and are way better than the stock manifolds. I was heasatent at first but now love them. They came ceramic coated and cool to the touch in about 1/2 hour (still warm). These are on a SB 350 in a 71 Chevelle.

I have hooker muscle car shorties on my chevelle. for the money they are nice,I have no issues with performance that Im aware of since I never had long tubes to begin with. with a 355/mini-blower and 10psi boost I was very close to 12.0@112mph and didnt' think that was my limiting factor. The rest of my exhaust is 3" into a 3" x pipe and 22" long hooker mufflers out to 3" tail pipes. Very quiet but im probobly giving up some Hp/tq by those huge mufflers, tail pipes and headers.

I LIKE GROUND CLEARANCE since its lowered 1-1/2" over all.

Thanks for the pictures and info guys, they look great and look like they are a good choice for an auto trans but don't think they work with a stick shift. I would stick with manifolds if not for them being so ugly and non performance hunks of iron. I will have to think on it a little, any other info would be much appreciated. Thanks again!
