is there a table of how many PSI in your cylnder translate to what your compression ratio is? thanks for the info. did a search but did not give me what i was looking for.

tt,
There are really too many variables to use the psi to figure compression ratio. A "smaller" camshaft will make more cranking compression than a "large" one in the same engine for instance. Cranking speed varies etc.

..not to mention the fact that if the engine has any significant mileage on it, then the condition of the piston rings can also effect your PSI readings. The only thing that might be helpful to you is that it is said that the ideal PSI readings for pump gas is 180-200 PSI. ...FWIW...
