I am looking for good performance but with reasonable street manors. Vacuum needed for brakes. I am thinking maybe a f.t solid cam
I currently have a 2000 stall convertor but can change if needed.
UDHarold , you out there?

Any input appreciated

How about going to a looser converter (like a 10" that footbrakes @ 3000 or so) and something like the Comp 280B-8.

Specs are: 280/285* advertised, 242/250* @ .050, .507/.532" lift, 108* LSA, 104* ICL.

You would definately need to upgrade the springs. You would probably need to use +.050" locks, and maybe grind a little off the top of the valve guides. Nothing too expensive or hard to do, just may need a little clearance checking / tweeking.

Harold may have something specifically for the Vortecs, but I can't remember off the top of my head.
