If it's in your showroom you can get the URL of the picture itself and use Manage Attachments to upload the photo from that URL and it'll appear as a thumbnail instead of a link. Here's the side view of your 66 from your photo album on TC. Display the photo then right-click on it and select Properties. That gives you the real URL to the photo, not necessarily what's in the address line of your browser. For example, the sideview of your car is http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/data/500/medium/chevelleside.jpg

Highlight the location in Properties and do a CTRL-C for Copy. Click the Manage Attachments button and paste (CTRL-V) the info into the dialog box for uploading via a URL.

The 'managed' photo doesn't appear in the dialog box with your threaded message but you can test you got it right by using the Preview Post button. When you're happy, click Submit Reply and the thumbnail(s) should be attached at the bottom of the message thread.

I think you can only post an attachment in a post as a thumbnail one time for each.
After that it will only be a link with no thumbnail.
I say I think

Quite correct. If one tries to use Manage Attachments with the same file again you get this message. I guess you have to go back to the previous message, delete the photo under Manage Attachments, then you can use it a second time.

Be nice if there was a method of either reusing an uploaded attachment or seeing a list of those already used without having to search for their previous usage. We sure don't ask for much do we. :D

Dale, Very good instructions, even for me they worked like a champ. I will file those for sure for future use. Thanks again.
