Don't know of a single place, but any reputable street performance shop should have a contact or two for you.
pdq67 Sep 1st, 07, 4:16 PM I don't know if the Chapin Head/Machine Shop, Chapin, IL does aluminum or not? IF they are still in existance??
I know that they used to furnace weld cast-iron heads b/c I watched them do it years ago when I was on the RR.

If they are the old factory aluminum heads from the late 60's early 70's good luck. The aluminum that GM used was worse than trashed beer cans and is very difficult to weld. I think the newer GMPP heads that are made by Edelbrock are ok, but the old ones are junk. Try over on a couple of the Corvette forums and see if they can recommend someone. We were restoring a 427/435 engine about ten years ago and one of the heads needed welding. I sent it to three different places around the country and nobody could get the job done :( Brodix just laughed at me when I called them and they normally can fix anything. Finally found a date coded replacement head on Ebay for big bucks.
