I have the cheaper Summit turbo mufflers on my 71 Chevelle 454. I needed some reasonable priced mufflers after engine rebuild to get the car going again. They sound pretty good. I am still running them after two years.

I run the $15 ones and they are top quality and sound just right. Not too loud, a nice mellow rumble.

I paid less than $14 each for 2-1/4" in/out Summit turbos after the 10% discount. Sounds and performs great behind my 383. Can't be beat for the money.

I don't have them on my Chevelle, but I do have them on my 94 Caprice 9C1 (LT1).
2 1/4" from the manifolds to the tail pipes with an X-pipe and gutted cats. Sounds real nice. A low, deep mellow sound, not real loud but loud enough to be noticed. ;)

I'm runnin them on my '71 with 307. 2-1/4" all the way out the back, and the sound is perfect.
I would definately recommend them.

I had those on my Nova for years, now my dad has them on his truck. They are pretty quiet, but sound ok up close. They have a fairly deep bassy sorta noise from a ways away. They arent head turners like the flowmasters though ;) Maybe that is what you want, the sleeper image. smile.gif

I just installed some.
Kinda loud IMO, especially considering I only have a pretty stock 283. Have had more people trying to race me in the past 3 weeks than in the previous 3 years.
It does have a nice sound, though. Nice low rumble, not the hollow raspy "flowmaster sound".
They do resonate around 2000RPM (freeway cruise speed for me). I am running stock manifolds and no crossovers. I am hoping that when I install the crossovers, it will shift the resonance frequency down some (or up).
You might want to conside the "hemi" long version of the turbos if you want a more quite.
