Got a saucer shaped " factory" style pick up HV pump on the motor now,
I've also got a rectangular cube style pick up HV pump that I could install.
Both have welded pick up tubes.
Is one style pick up better than the other on a 8.25" kick out pan
Thanks again
Cecil

I personally like the stock pickup better than any SBC "hybrids" for MOST applications. Not knowing your particular application its hard to make a recommendation.
One thing I do know, however, is that most of us on this site have discussed " high volumn" versus "high pressure" pumps exhaustively over the years and "high pressure" wins over "high volumn" hands down.
Its your call and your car but for me I am far more concernd about pressure than I am about volumn.

Thanks Bill, what I found out was, that the original style oil pick up hits the baffling on the new 7qt kick out pan.
I would have liked to have kept the pump with the original style pick up, but after fumbling around a few minutes with it, it became obvious that the re-positioned rectangular cube style pick up on the new pump was needed.
If I ever need to drop the pan again I will certainly grab a HP pump
I did install a new ARP shaft with metal sleeve.
