well im more than likely gotta go 60 over with my 350 it was already 30 over and the guy at the machine shop said that i had tomuch ring wear to go back with 30 over pistons and probly not 40 over so he said that I more than likely gonna have to go 60 over......I took my 441 heads too and he said they were a good head but had low comp he said that he would do alittle work on them and get me some HP :D im thinkin about gonna get some KB flat tops with 2 valve reliefs it says 9.6 comp with 76cc head which is what my heads are and were gonna deck the block so i shold have around 10 to 1 comp....... I have the XE 268H-10 from comp and have an edelbrock SP-2P intake and a holley 600.........what do yall think my power and stuff should be around????
desktop dyno says 366hp and 411 ft lbs  holy "SMOKIN TIRES" graemlins/waving.gif graemlins/clonk.gif

I'm thinking more like 325hp/360 ft-lbs tops...but not with the sp2p. Thats an idle-4500 rpm manifold at best, an early attempt at maximum mixture velocity and fuel economy. A performer or better yet a performer rpm will work WAY better for a performance application.

The sp2p is a great manifold for a low rpm RV or 4X4 but not that great for the compression and cam you're going to run. RPM airgap or regular rpm would work nice, especially if the machinist is going to open up the heads some. Weiand stealth would work good also but not as good as the rpm I bet. Bob

Hijacking an old thread....
A buddy has a 4bbl SP2P that he'll give me, it has the EGR provision that I need for Cali SMOG testing.
I would put it on my stock 160HP 350 in my '86 K5 Blazer. The motor has 8.5:1 CR, stock peanut cam, cast iron intake, etc. The stock computer controlled Q-jet has already received some metering rod and hanger changes. I have a set of headers that will be going on shortly too. Later on down the road it might receive a mild cam and spring swap, but it will be mild enough for it to SMOG still.
The truck already has 4.11 gears with 33x12.5x15 tires, built 700R-4 w/shift kit, but still lacks the power I want. Maybe in a few years I'll build a whole new 383 for it.
Anyway, should I bother with the old SP2P intake or just bite the bullet for a 3701 Performer (EGR model)?
Thanks guys!!

bite the bullet. the SP2P is pretty much useless.

yea i wouldnt use it either i switched to the torker 2 (I swaped straight across...)and my old sp 2p would totaly just fall flat on itz ass at 4500 the torker 2 builds power up to like 6000 rpms she has some UMPH now........so go a diff route on an intake.......trust me youll thank me in the long run.....
