Hey all, I have a edelbrock rpm intake with edel 750 I'm having hood clearence problems:( What are you 68-69 guys using for a air cleaner with this set up. Not sure if 70-72 has the same problem or not as the hoods are different . Thanks

I have a Holley Single plane that sits at 4.75" front/6.25" rear. I am using a 2" drop base air cleaner with a 4" element which gives me about 3/4" clearance with my hood.

I have a 69 and you need to use a factory reproduction chrome open element air cleaner. They have a lot more drop than the 1" to 1.5" drop aftermarket types like the Moroso.
You can buy them from just about any Chevelle parts place.

Will that work with a edelbrock carb? thanks

I'm using the K&N 14" drop base with their 2 5/16 inch element and their extreame top.
Same set up with a three inch element and the top will meet the hood with the torque of the engine.

i have a '68 with a BB, edelbrock air gap, 750 pro form, i did have to get the air cleaner housing that drops the area where the filter sits like about 2". some cheap after market setups have almost no drop. depending on what you have, you might be able to just get a shorter air filter.
