I found a pretty ruff 68 138 ss and am wondering if its worth it... here is what I have been able to come up with:

I believe it is a 3rd week of may fremont car with black (olds) bucket seats Grecian Green. It has 4-speed pedals and a center console with a floor shifter hole on the hump. AC equipment attached to fire wall. All glass and regulators in very good shape. No visable front windshield rust good ss hood and roof and doors... the floor of the car is in great shape without any rust thru. as we get to the back of the cars the good news ends.

quarters are ruff and need alot of work if not full replacement. trunk floor has been cut out replacement floor is included in a pile of parts. The trunk extention of the frame has been cut off and a real poor excuse of a replacement has been welded in its place (I assume rusted out). 10 bolt rear end and drum brakes all around... The car is minus engine and trans however I have a just finished 69 JL 396 L78 motor and m 21 trans I can drop in. All interior is there and in pretty decent restorable condition.

I can buy this car for a song... what is it worth considering the work ahead of me.

The hard part will be to find all the SS specific parts to make a good restoration. A good frame shouldn't be hard to find in California. Up here in the north we would love to find a Chevelle with a floor in it! My '70 is as rough as the one in the site above and I am fixing it also.

lets see, frame is junk, needs a good bit of sheet metal, no motor, no tranny.... I would guess $2500 tops it about all its worth depending on the shape of the interior. If the interior is at least all there then yeah $2500 if its not then less. Hard to say what else might be missing if ya know what I mean.
