My 70ss is black with white stripes what is the correct plasticote trunk splater paint color and what color should the primer be ??

Not sure what color it would be in plasti coat, I could tell you however that my trunk has the original color in it. It is a gray with white speckles. If you need I can e-mail you a pic of it. Email me if you need it.

The splatter paint doesn't do a very good job of covering. I had to paint my trunk all the same color ( black ) the spray the splatter paint to get an even coverage and no bleed thru. Don't forget to spray clear over the splatter paint.

The trunk on your 70 SS should have black and aqua spatter paint (both of my 70's have unrestored trunks), not gray and white or black and gray. I don't think you can get the black and aqua from Plastikote. You can the GM stuff from the dealer (don't have the part # offhand) or you can order it from one of the Chevelle vendors. Good luck!

One more thing, the gray and white spatter was used on earlier models (at least 65, but not sure what other years.) Looks like you'll be redoing your trunk, too, Rich!

Just went and popped the trunk on my 70 SS with original trunk and it is black and aqua for sure.
