Unable to find a gasket that fits the exhaust ports on the aluminum heads. I'm running Sanderson 1 7/8" headers - Sanderson recommends running only Ultra Black silicone sealant instead of a gasket. I cannot get rid of a nasty exhaust leak. Has anyone found a gasket that will closely match the exhaust ports on the aluminum heads ?

Thanks for any help graemlins/waving.gif

I had 8 exhaust leaks with my C7 Sanderson's. So bad that someone thought I put them in upside down  I'm stupid, but not that retarded. I used the regular Mr Gaskets they sell at every Pep-boys and enlarged the bolt holes higher or lower(I'd have to go out and look at the car) so the gaskets would match the exhaust ports. Mickey-mouse fix but it worked and the car hasn't leaked in over 2 years.

Scott,

I have a set of the Fel-Pro #1410, but the port opening on the gasket is too large, not enough gasket left around the port to seal with the 1 7/8" Sanderson C7 headers I have. graemlins/angry.gif
What size header are you running ? And did you have the exhaust port enlarged/reshaped ?

Kent, I use the Earls composite gaskets with the replacable inserts on my 502. Once you tighten the bolts thats it. They don't loosen up or leak. If you ever do have to remove them you can just buy the inserts that fit the holder and bolt em back up. I have used them on small and big blocks since they have been available and have never had a failure. Summit or jegs carries them.
