Got an invitation to take the 64 to a friends house for a "Hot Days Cool Cars" picnic. 28 cars showed up for beer, catered Mexican and bench racing. Great variety, here are the ones that caught my eye. The Olds is a factory tri power and won first place at a National Olds event last year. 46 is a trophy winner from the Boise Roadster Show this year. 67SS is stock original. Roadrunner just had a frame off completed. CobraJet is original with new paint. The Shelby is a R type clone but could be passed for original.

The only problem is ....I couldn't fit all those cars in my backyard.... would have to move all the tables chairs and grill out front so we could look at the cars while we drank and ate. :D Looks like a good time, :beers: I'd love to do something like that around here:yes:

Don't know if the engine had a name but the factory option was J2. This guy has one of the rare stick options most came with the auto.

The 57 olds reminds me of 1957. I was 16 years old, and this kids dad owned an oldsmobile dealership in a neighboring town.

He put down a black mark with his new olds about a city block long, it was a one legger. My buddy told me about it, and a few of us drove out in the country just to look at it, we were impressed to the max.

Hey, I was at one Sat too! Only about 8 cars, since it's quite a haul and there wasn't enough room for family, cooler, and other stuff we had to haul up. There will be more next year, I'm sure.

Oh they are here! It's amazing how many old cars there are. I live in the older part of town that was built up in the 50's and 60's. Good blue collar neighborhood. Within two blocks of my house are a restored 67 Cougar, 27 Ford Roadster, chopped 33, WIP 67 cougar, 70 Mustang (original owner in original condition), 70 Nova, 65 Chevelle, 69 Charger, 55 Chevy Wagon, a couple of race cars, a garage with a bunch of American Motors stuff (AMX, Machine, etc) 38 Buick with 401 nailhead, 40 Ford. Also lots of motorcycles, ATV's and boats. Seems like most are driven, not just trailer queens. The Corvette club here is one of the largest and most active in the country and there are two very active hot rod clubs.
