Sundown Tubing Testing Modified Quick: It's White Camaro Night at the drags. Jay Campbell (Merkel) and Bill Simpkins of San Angelo put on the race of the evening in the Mod Quick final. Jay started his run with a perfect .0007 light an finished with a 6.0533 ET on a 6.03 dial, making for a .024 total package run. In the other lane, Bill is right there, leaving with a nearly perfect .001 light and a posting a 7.0436 clocking on a 7.02 dial, making for a .0246 package. That comes to 6 TEN THOUSANDS at the finish line. In round numbers based on speed, Jay took the finish line by 1 INCH at 114 MPH.
Runnered up in Pro. I knew I left early as soon as I hit it. Brain fart. Got the last bye to get into the final. Went .021 and 6.0551 on my 6.05 dial. Should have saved that one for the final.:clonk:
Sundown Tubing Testing Pro: Jerry Walker of Abilene was in break-out mode in two finals this night but that didn't keep him out of the Winner's Circle. In Pro, Jerry was ready for Jay Campbell (Merkel) and slapped the tree with a .004 light. Jay left second and went .015 red, giving the win to Jerry right there. Just so Jay could drive home in complete misery, Jay's Camaro went dead on 6.051 on a 6.05 after the red light. Jerry blasted to victory with a 7.721 on a 7.76 dial.
Car was very consistant, driver OK until the redlight.:D These are both footbrake classes BTW.
