My counsin is taking me to look at a car he is interestd in buying. Supposedly it is a 1968 Chevelle SS 396, auto, red, 33,000 original miles. The owner was going to drag race it, so the original motor was removed, and tranny, then the original motor was replaced, but a TH350 was put back in. THe car was not raced as the local track shut down. Supposed to be in great shape, needs very minor cosmetic repairs (crack in side window, vinyl top needs attention). Asking price is $10K. My cousin knows nothing about cars, which is why he taking me along. I downloaded lots of "numbers" information from this site allready to take with me to check ot various things. Does this seem like a decent price?

Thanks

Scott

Pictures tell a lot.. 10k sounds like a decent price if you dont have to replace alot of metal..

Colors, options, also help the price.... and are you sure it is till the original engine??? Vin # must start with 138...

Haven't seen the car yet, supposed to tomorrow. I will check vin, engine stamping, etc. SUpposed to be rust free, original paint, etc. Seems a little to good to be true...

Go here and download as much stuff you can on 68's before you go.. The way you just described it does sound too good to be true.. Good Luck! Take Pictures..
