I'm Rebuilding A 67 drag car. I'd like to put a taller trans tunnel in so I can pull the engine with the trans attached. It is a BBC w/ turo 400 and w/ the deep sump oil pan I can't raise the motor and trans high enough to clear the front x-member. Does anyone make prefab'd interior sheetmetal tunnels or floors? Can't seem to find a source for the 67 Chevelle.
Also has anyone run big headers other than supercomps that fit well? I need to run equal length tubes in the 2 1/8" range.Just looking for other alternatives. I'm not running inner fender wells so if anyone has found a set of good headers that take advantage of no fenderwells that would be helpful also. Thanks for you input.

For headers the man to talk to is Dan Lemon at Lemon's headers. They are the best on the market, spendy but worth every damn penny. I run a big Milodon pan on my BBC in my 68, I notched the front crossmember and now installation of the engine and trans is a snap.BTW I run a stock floor pan as I am not allowed any removeable trans tunnel. Besides if you remove the trans tunnel, you will need to add a bar across the front of the cage as per NHRA rules under modified floor pans etc.

TWC,
I have the Lemons for my car and they are a work of art. They are 2 3/8" to 2 1/2" to a 5" collector. They are supposed to fit the stock frame with no mods. I installed them on the motor on the stand and they fit very well with good spark plug access and are even with the bottom of the oil pan. I will be installing them in a week or two so I will let you know how they fit.
Flyboys,
Any pics or info on your car? Sounds really impressive. Let us know if you have a website or something.

I am working on a website now for mu aircraft maintenance shop and racecar wiring business that will link to my racecar. It's pretty much a ladder bar car,all steel except bumpers and hood. I am currently running a 9 in. slick because I have not the time for the mini-tub yet. 3 stages of nitrous on either a 477 or 510 BBC and a glide. Still weigh 3410 w/driver-8.90@155 best so far.
