The 750 holley on my car sticks during accelleration, kind of like cruise control but alittle scary at times. A simple bump on the gas pedal cures it. I do not see the problem. Any help is appreciated......

Check the throttle cable make sure it moves freely, make sure nothing on the carb is binding, check for bent blades on the bottom of carb, weak return spring, fix as soon as possible! graemlins/waving.gif

Might spray some lubricant like WD40 or Royal Purple down the sleeve of the cable, on my car it starts getting sticky every now and then from dirt and such getting in there

might spray some on the throttle linkage too and double check you spring, maybe the ends of the spring are straitening out so that it feels the same but the spring is a pinch longer so it doesnt pull all the way

My 65 did the same thing found it was a broken motor mount and when I gave it gas the motor twisted causing the throttle to stick open. This was with stock mechanical linkage. just a thought

I had that happen. Look under the dash at the gas peddle and make sure the cable has a good angle so the little wire stop on it doesn't get hung up. It is the thing that kind of looks like a pellet. It should go into the round opening when the accelerator is fully depressed.

These maechanical linkage can be kinda tricky. First, I did was unbolt the whole pedal rod assembly on the firewall and clean and lubricate that, then I cut off those pellets on the back of the rubber pedal(I felt that gave me a smoother pedal feel), then I got the original linkage rod from GM and that little rubber gasket w/ the plastic in the middle that goes on the end, where the rod first starts near the firewall. Also double springs are better then one, and you need it when you go to the track for inspection. Works great, can't even tell if it's linkage or cable. Good Luck
