well me and the wife are walking the dogs last night. about 1/2 a mile from the house, were walking past a home that people were recently moving in, there are a couple teenage girls in the front yard, a younger boy, a woman and two guys in the driveway, out of the corner of my eye, one guy reaches out and knockes the other out....perfect punch, just dropped the guy like a sack of rocks.

now normally if a couple guys are duking, i keep out of it, till it looks like somebody is getting hurt past what is resonable for a fight. this guy dropped him with one punch, and seeing he was out of control, and he was moving in to do more damage, i stepped up. we wrestle a little, i duck a few punches, but just basically hold the guy till he regaines control, he asks? are we going to fight? i say no, but inform him the other guy is out cold, and his wife was calling the cops. i tell him he should leave.

by this time the guy knocked out, is back, and by the conversation going on, he probably deserved it, and is crying to the cops on the phone.

the story i could pull was, guy and his wife, were breaking up, boyfriend was over at the house, and mouthed off. i know he deserved it, but the guy throwing the punch had kids in the front yard, and i felt a night in jail, beat several years in prison if i hadn't stopped him.

i hated i couldn't talk the other guy from calling the cops. i felt he was in the wrong, and should have taken his ass whoppin like a man. this guy sniveled like a little girl.

i'm glad i stepped in, but now i wish i'd let the guy do a little more damage, if your going to spend the night in jail, it should be worth it, but on the other hand, if he wasn't able to stop himself, he could have accidently killed him.

felt bad for the kids, they just looked at me like they needed help, and i had nothing to offer. i apoligized to them, and just went home.

You did the right thing. Let their family politics not be your problem. More than one case around here of a guy getting his bell rung, and the aggressor finished him off with a couple more shots, and now is doing time for manslaughter. I'm sure their paths will cross again, and buddy might be in for a series of tune-ups.

you're a better man than I. I might have helped the guy doing the wooping after I found out what was going on :)

It was the right thing to do, but...The last time I got involved with something domestic was along the highway near Detroit Mi. I see a car way up ahead half off of the road so I slow the truck way down. When I'm almost there I see this big guy just slapping the crap out of a woman. I throw on the flasshers and get it woahed down and bail out of the truck and pull the guy off of her as he has now grabbed her hair and is punching her in the head and face. He starts swing on me and I give him a little chop don onto his collar bones and then get him in a choke hold when he went to his knees. Next thing I know I got a screaming banshee on my back biting my ear hand hitting me in the side of the head. I turned loose the guy and reached back and grabbed her head and flipped her over my shoulder and on her back onto the trunk of her car. By then some other trucks and cars had stopped and the had sudued the guy and a couple grabbed her and held her til the police came. The couple wanted to press charges on ME!!! The Officer took a quick statement from me and several others then told them if they did not want arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication they had best go home! Then he told me that they are pretty drunk so I should just go on and he would settle it. Luckily I never heard a thing about it again!

So is this something you do a lot that you had to be asked if you had shoes this time?:boxing:

yeah, sometimes things can get ugly. i always make sure i have an exit lined up before i step in. i was waiting for the wife to do something stupid, but luckily she just stood at the head of the driveway yelling crap.

stepping in is a very iffy thing. i usually give it a few seconds, because the average person burns off thier adreniline pretty quick, i wait for the fade, then move in, by that time they are usually out of breath. yesterday, the guy had a huge jacket on, so i was able to grab a shoulder and keep him off balance, kept him moving, in front of me. i kept the wife within periferal.

probaly a stupid thing to do, but it seems to be second nature to me, i just step in. i'm sure one day i'm really going to regret it....

Really the big worry is what they might have in their pocket or tucked into their belt. Few though take the time to think they just react to a given situation. Myself included! I would never let past experience stop me from coming to someones aid!

Bill: Your a brave one. Thank GOD he didn't have a gun on him. More cops would have been called. I know what your saying. You can't just stand there and watch it go on. Like most people would. Just saying thank God your alright. Ya never know how these things can turn out. One or the other might have had a gun or knife.
