I am restoring a set of 69 Chevelle SS wheels. All of the past I have restored, I have painted the centers black. My customer supplied me with a kit from Ausleys and they supply Gray for the center color. Any opinions on whether they were Gray or Black??? Thanks!!

Charcoal grey is correct for the recessed areas.

They might call it charcoal gray but it should look more like black than gray. Going by what the original factory wheels looked like, I'd call it a semi-flat black.

Thanks for the advice guys. Looking at what Ausley's sold it appears as a cast iron gray. It just seems too gray to be correct. I'll mix a single stage Black color with a gray cast and do a spray out.

The SS wheels were 3 colors, Argent Silver on the front, Dove gray on the back and Charcoal gray or black in the front in the recessed area. There has been a lot of talk what is correct in that area. The Restoration form has a lot of info if you do a search for SS wheel color. Below is one search I found on the topic.
