I just ordered you 402A8LUN, on your man Steve's recommendation. I was going to go A6, but Steve felt it would run better on a 10:1 compression, with a wider LSA of 110.

Anyway, I've got to deliver the cam to the machine shop next week and was wondering what I should tell them when they install the cam. I know your suggested C/L is 104. Is there anything else I should know before they install?

SS_Sean,

The 502A8 is one of my favorites, too....
Have your shop put it in at 104° ATDC, although the engine will run just fine anywhere from 103° to 106° ATDC.
Make sure that all fuel line is #8 1/2", from tank to carb. A Carter 172-gph mech fuel pump is very OK, or any combo of electric giving 220 gph or more.
Have them break the cam in with outer springs ONLY, for about 30 minutes around 2500-3000. After a successful break-in, change the oil and oil filter, and it should be good-to-go. Watch the valve lash for the 1st 1000 miles or so.
You will like this cam.
