where to place the ss door emblems on a 70 chevelle pictures or measurement

I had the same question a couple weeks ago and didn't get a response either. Here is a picture of a '72 that shows the location. 1970 - 1972 are the same.

I am replacing the my doors with PUI panels. Should there be holes for the SS emblem? Does anybody have the correct measured placement? It would be tough to "eyeball it" from the picture. Thanks!

It in the same place as the Malibu emblem if that helps. Do you have your old panels? I used one of mine to make a template. I cut it along the edge of the chrome trim and laid it on top of the new panel to transfer the holes.
Because my template locates to an irregular surface it would be hard for me to use for dimensions.
If you are still stuck, send me an email and I will scan it in with a scale next to it. Maybe you could enlarge/reduce a print of it until you get it to the same size.

I did these on my new emblems recently but had the old ones to go by. The way I measured was to turn the old panels over and measure the holes from the edge of the door chrome strip. You can see the impression of it from the back side. They came out perfect. If you don't have anyold panels to go by I can measure mine when I get home, I haven't put them on my car yet.

My old panels do not have the "Malibu" emblems so I can't use that as a template. Any measurements would be great. Thanks for the help everyone!

I found a guy that had older panels so I used it as a template. Seems that the emblem pegs are pretty short and don't come completely through the back side of the panel. Is this normal? I got the part from NPD.
