Hey guys, I'm Jim from central MI, I work in construction and do custom paint on the side. I used to be a painter by trade but got burnt out painting 10 cars a day, not leaving any free time to do my own so I changed careers. I'm going to be doing a 67 chevelle over the winter and know I will have a few questions, thats why I joined. Seems like every time I get a new project I have to find a forum to go along with it :D I'll post a few of my paintjobs here shortly, have to scan some old pics first.

Thanks guys, no pics of the 67 yet although we have started tearing the chrome off it so I should get some before pics pretty quick before its to late.
Here's a couple customers chevelles I've done in the past. First one was suposed to be a florida car, I found out why it was painted white once we got the paint off. This one was on a very tight budget so no quarters for this one but I did take out all the filler and rework the metal. I did this one more than 10 years ago and his budget was $1800. He was a friend so I told him I would do it but he had to supply the materials. He was set on indigo blue so thats what it got.

This one was truely a work of love, the owner traveled the country looking for OEM metal for this one and ended up buying a couple cars in texas and cut them into pieces to fit on one trailer to bring home. A retired gm welder by trade he pieced this car together piece by piece for his son. I can't remember for sure but I think he brought me a pic of one of Boyd's 55 or 57 chevy's that had a similar paint scheme and wanted something similar. I hated the colors on this one but its what they wanted. You just can't seen the depth with these colors in my opinion. This one needed no filler at all, he worked all the metal smooth so it was actually a pretty easy job to finish for him.
Here's his latest creation that took about 2 years to finish which is one of my dream cars to own one of these days. This guy has talent and everything is done mostly by Dennis, the company owner.
