Has anyone heard, or used the Flowtech Afterburner mufflers? i'm looking for a new set, use super turbos now on a 2.5" pipe, but want to be louder and more aggressive. i was thinking Ultra Flos, but dynomax has pretty crappy sound clits of their muffs on the site. on flowtech's site, however, the sound was pretty good. i want to go for not so much of a fiberglass packed "muffled" sound that the ST's give, something with more of an open, "tinny" sound. i know i don't want flowmasters, tho. they're a little too dramatic in that respect, and lose some of the muscular sound imo.

anyway, just wanted to hear what you guys had to say.... the clips sound pretty bad-ass to me, though. graemlins/beers.gif

I haven't used the afterburners, but have used the terminators on several different cars/trucks. They sound awesome, without the real deep bass (and resonance) of a flowmaster. The have a very pronounced bark when you hit the gas...more than any other muffler I have ever heard. I give them a graemlins/thumbsup.gif You might also look into the hooker aerochamber mufflers...they sound awesome and per your description, sounds like what you want

how do the aerochambers compare volume-wise to super turbos, or ,say, ultraflos?

I think the Hooker aero flows just about out flow all the other "quality" mufflers. They say "23% more flow"...just like everyone else says of course, but they use a step design and you can see right through them! You can't see through a flowmaster.

I thought about getting a pair of these when I replace my Summit Turbos. I'm running the Afterburner headers, so why not the mufflers too, right?

I wish they'd make a sound clip with the car running through the gears as the engine climbs to 5800 or higher between shifts. That's the only time any exhaust system really sounds good.

Right on cjlandry! Personally I like the sound of flowmasters. I think they have a nice deep rumble to them. Seems like chevy's should have the rumble, and leave the tin type sound to fords. Just seems better that way. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I think they sound pretty sweet... I wanna have that low rumble at idle... like the afterburners.. do they make a muffler with an even louder idle but sounds like the afterburners?
