guys, right now my world has been turned upside down. my wife had to have a bone marrow biopsy thursday. we will not know the results until sometime next week. they are not sure what is wrong yet. her red/white cell count and platlets are very low. they said it could be anything from a minor blood disorder needing only medication up to leukemia. I am the type who always thinks the worst in situtations like this and that along with the fact I just lost an uncle to leukemia, I'm a wreck. cant eat, cant sleep. I'm trying to be strong for the wife and kids but its hard. please say a prayer for her. Thanks

We're all praying for her Mike. Just try to remember until the doctor tells you it's luekemia, it's not luekemia. My grandfather passed away from luekemia, but I also have a few friends that have had luekemia and it went into total remission.

Good luck, and try to relax some. All the worrying isn't going to help your wife any either.

Mike coming from someone who just went through a family situation, I can understand your fears. However right now more than anything your wife will pull off your strength. I am praying that the results will be negative and you can go forward with your life.

Hi Michael,
I hope all goes well and I will keep you and your wife in my prayers.
I am on the registry to donate bone marrow. If she needs a donor and I am a match, I will be happy to donate bone marrow.

Will pray for your wife. Whatever it is, it is not a death sentence. Went thru this in 04. My ex-wife had similiar stuff, after complete testing, it was deternmined to be Myeloma, a cancer of the blood. She has had some problems, but is still going and getting treatments. Bone marow transplant has not been done yet. In 3 years the treatments and prognosis have really improved. There is lots of hope.

Here's hoping for a positive outcome. In the meantime remember that making yourself sick with worry won't be beneficial to anybody (not that anyone can blame you for being worried sick). Just try your best to stay strong and to show faith.

You guys are in my prayers...

Mike, after many tests showing a low white blood count, my wife has had 3 bone marrow tests, with many comments as yours - it could be anything. Having dealt with this the last 12 years, there is still no definitive diagnosis, even with seeing specialists and tests sent to Mayo Clinic. Drs. keep monitoring her. In spite of the low white blood count, she has not really been seriously ill, for which we are thankful. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you.

I'll pray for her. Keep in mind that right now you don't really even know how serious this is. It may not be anywhere near what you're anticipating. Stay as positive as you can and everything will work out.

I wish the both of you the best.

If it's any consolation, they told my mother I had leukemia when I was born, obviously I didn't. 20 years later, a doctor told me I had cancer and I didn't. After numerous tests, he said, "Well, those low levels must just be 'normal' for you."

37 years and I'm still here annoying people. Hope everything works out for you and your family.

As many have said, hope for the best. My son, 11 years old, went through a similar situation last year. He's never been healthier than he is today. I understand how difficult this is for you. Tell her how much you love her, and don't be afraid to believe in miracles.

your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
