JA is a 69 396-4 325hp-L35 with a Manual trans.

The partial vin should be eather on the same pad as the ID. (right side of pad) Or on a pad beside the oil filter.

Your Vin says your car was built in early Dec, 67. The engine code is Jan. 8th 70

All 1968 Chevelle 396 engine codes ( the numbers after the Txxxx) started with "E". The "JA" is for a '69 engine, so it's not the original, numbers matching motor.
