Hey guys. I finally decided what direction to go with my 78 c10, and thats the pull the 383 and re-work it direction smile.gif
I want to put a ultradyne grind in, so I know you guys are the ones to ask :D The shortblock has 30,000miles, and will be getting fresh ARP bolts and forged 11:1 pistons, along with a cast crank and 2bolt ARP lower end. The top end is vortec heads with SS valves and isky springs, victor intake, 750DP holley, comp roller tip rockers, MSD ignition, pete jackson gear drive. It sits in front of a M20 4speed.
I want to go with a solid flat tappet cam, no more then .510-.515" lift on the intake, anything goes for the exaust, with shift point at 6000-6500rpm [Ill leave that up to you experts]
This is not a street truck at all anymore, so Im not worried about power below 3000rpm. I just want max power in the rev range Ill use at the tract. Thanks guys!

Comp makes a .470" lift rule cam # 12-523-5, 242/250 with .473" lift. Use some 1.6 full roller rockers for .504" lift. Should run well in your motor up to 6000 rpm.

I ran the Comp 12-221-5 solid flat tappet cam in my 383 and loved it!
Specs are 280/285, 242/250 @ .050, .507/.532 with 1.5 rockers, LSA 108.

comp also has some tight-lash solid cams that are pretty serious. :cool:
