I am almost ready to begin the reassembly of my SS dash for my 72. What is the best way to reassemble it? It's been a few years since I took it off.
Should I mount the cluster, radio, lighter, wiring, etc., then mount it or what?
Thanks,
Mike

Definitely mount your cluster beforehand and anything that your harness plugs into like the headlamp switch, wiper switch, glove box light, etc. Install your air duct outlets as well. There's a large grounding washer for the lighter socket so the lighter will have to wait. You didn't say if your radio is original but those suckers are heavy. Wait until the dash is in. The center of the dash where the radio and the heater control cut-outs are located is the weakest part of the dash. You don't need the extra weight of the radio there until the dash is in. Of course, drop your steering column as well if it isn't down already and lay a rag over it to protect it. Have a helper support one end of the dash assembly while you support the opposite end until you get a couple of mounting bolts in.
