Hi Guys,
I have a 66 console shift powerglide in need of a neutral start switch. I bought what I thought was one... but seems to be for a 3 speed auto. I checked around but haven't been able to find one for a console powerglide.
Anyone know a source????
Also, was there a 66 factory console powerglide available... or did the console only come with a 3 speed auto?
Thanks!

I did a little looking and couldn't find a switch. Maybe someone else will chime in.
In '66 the only automatic available was a Powerglide no matter what engine.
Console was available with 4-speed or Powerglide. Not sure about 3-speed.

Im not sure but why wouldn't a 350 turbo one work? Park thru drive are the same, you just wouldn't be using one slot. In fact my 700 r4 shifter conversion is using the switch from a 350 turbo......never gave it any thought till now. I guess as long as it don't start in gear your fine.

Thanks for the replies.
It seems the distance between shifts is not the same between the 2 speed PG and the 3 speed TH. Make sense?
Explanation: 'Assume' that the distance between park and reverse on the shifter is 1 inch(for example) for the powerglide. The neutral start/backup switch I have needs to go 1 and 1/4 inch before it closes to switch on the backup lights. So, I guess the distance between shifts is different between the PG and the TH????
Currently I have the neutral start switch wires jumpered (dangerous, I know and I want to fix this) and the backup lights are not connected. NY state inspection is not happy with the 'no backup lights' thing...
Any thoughts or am I doing something wrong or... ? Thanks!

Over my head... tell New York that your license plate lights doubles as your back up lights!

did u try shiftworks.com
I just checked their site and found the below. I guess that confirms the problem I'm having. I'll call them Monday anyway though to see if they have a solution available.
Thanks
64-67 Backup and Safety Switch*:
TH350 & TH400
#S500 . . . .$50.00
Note: This switch is different than your Powerglide switch. It looks the same on the outside, but the internal contacts are set for the TH.
