I have a New 700R4 ,convertor , and a cross member from an 86 camaro.
I was wondering what i needed to do, and buy to get this to work in my 71 SS.
I know i need a lock up kit, but theres many to choose from. Which is the best price wise? Any info you could give me would be great! Thank you!

So I don't have to retype too much, go to this thread: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188410
www.700r4.com has a lot of good info on the lock up

throw away the Camaro crossmember. you don't need it.
just bolt the trans up, put the crossmember in and line up the mounting holes on the frame. if no holes line up, hold the crossmember up to the bottom of the frame with the trans mount bolted up and drill the holes. put the crossmember back on top of the frame and put the bolts thru.
now, you just gotta cut your stock TH350 driveshaft about 3" shorter.
the stock cooler lines will hook right up, as will the stock shifter using the linkage from the TH350.
then, it's just a matter of getting a lockup kit and you are good to go. in my Monte, i used the GMPP lockup kit that locks up the converter anytime it's in overdrive and the brakes aren't being pressed, but i'd like to add a vacuum switch to unlock it going up hills, since my 350 doesn't make a lot of torque and lugs pretty bad up steep hills with the converter locked.
