I bought my 70ss with all the upholstery new in boxes. The new stuff is dark green as was the original upholstery. someone painted the lower part of the dash and it really looks pretty crappy. I hate the color and its too shiny. Has anyone had luck using green paints and/or dyes. I may decide to switch to black and sell the green stuff. Seems like black would be easier to match. I've read here that to get a good match you have to go to a local shop to have it mixed. I haven't been able to find anywhere to do this. Anyone know of somewhere around raleigh, NC that can match paints and dyes to upholstery. Anyone had success with dark green? Thanks.

I'm not familar with your dash , sound like it's vinal. I have used Marhide spray dye for years. Covers anything on the first applaction. I have re-dyed several cars and boats it will not rub off once it's dry. If you have a Pep Boys in your area they cary it.
