Who out there is running a Stewart Stage 2 Water Pump on there Big Block..? I'm just wondering how much better the cooling will be from a New NAPA Water Pump..? Did your eng actually run alot cooler after installation..?

Thanks

Bob,

I run a Stewart cast iron short pump, Be Cool radiator and dual 12" electric fans on my 67. It runs very cool at idle, about 170 degrees in the Texas heat.

The Stewart pumps are nice IMO. I have been using them for years now. I have never tried any other kind of pumps on my Chevelle with the big block combos. I have run Stewart pumps with my small block combos also.

Nice 66 you have Bob!

Bought a Stewart Stage 2 with a new Stewart 180 Hi-Flo DRILLED thermostat but haven't had a chance to install them...I will get to it and post my results.

Thanks

The Stewart will outflow ANY stock or OEM waterpump at least 40%!! Flow is king.. so that's one of the basic upgrades you can make to your cooling system for sure.

Jack Stands "Steve"..I really can't believe how little the Stewart Stage II Hi-flo impeller water pumps are used and even talked about. It seems everyone pumps mega dollars into there engines and forget that the water flow is the most important. It slipped by me months ago when I had my 396 completely rebuilt. They intalled a Napa water pump and it's been running hot ever since, even with twin 11" Spals, mostly water and an Aluminum Alumitech radiator. I plan on installing my new stage two within a week. I'll let ya know the results..
