I have a S&W 10 point for my 69 chevelle.
I have the main hop set in and put in the halo bar in to check how it fits, but not sure how far foward it should go. Does the main bar ( behind the seats) sit up on the upper level ( where the rear seat was) or down in the area the rear passengers feet would be?
Any pictures would be great also.
Thanks

rb69,
The Main Hoop cant be more than 8" behind your helmet I beleive. It might 6", I would verify it in a NHRA Rule Book.
The " Halo " Bar ( without seeing it ) You want approx. 4-8" behind the top of the windshield, prop it up in place and sit in the seat and check visibity or just look at it from the front through the windshield. And get it as high as you can. If the windshield is removed it makes it ALOT easier to weld it 360'
I can send pics of mine in a 64 if that might help.

Thanks for the reply.
As a point of reference, are you still able to use the sunvisors? I tried to hold it up there and that question came up. As for the rear hoop it looks like it mounts to the frame just above where the rear control arms mount to the frame?
Pictures would be great.
Thanks

Robert,I ran into the same thing with my 68, we slid the halo bar back to use the sunvisors when I was going to keep a headliner in the car. I would not do that again. One, it brings the forward bar too close to my helmet. Better to run the halo forward and not use the sunvisors than to have less headroom. The above pic is a good one to base placement of the main hoop on.remember the max distance from the main hoop to the drivers helmet is 6". Feel free to call me at the shop if you have any other questions. Later-Neal
