Nice car but check out the build sheet. I noticed a few things like 3:73 gear, red stripe tires and ZJ7 special wheels on a LS6? Just wondering if its me or if its a real build sheet. Hard to tell anymore:( Ebay item # 200140239296.

To Me It Looks Like On The Build Sheet That The First Part Of The Vin Has A Character That Is (wrong). And I Didn't See The Tach. What Was The Round Thing To The Left Of The Radio.

OH YEAH AND I THINK THAT UNDER THE SEAT IS NOT WHERE THE BUILD SHEETS WERE FOUND. FOR ARLINGTON CARS:noway:

Another idiot dealer looking for an idiot buyer.
Nice to know that real wheel drive was an option on a 70 Chevelle ;)
Nice car...typical 30K ride..lots of wrong stuff..but a nice driver for the local cruise night and you get an aged window sticker and buildsheet to compliment the Merlin head equipped LS6 block.
I guess they forgot to add the mandatory HD battery to that buildsheet
Looks like they contacted Jimmy Two times on the gauge option.

Admittedly im not too smart when it comes to Chevelles, but shouldnt the trim tag have an R on the data plate for an Arlington built car and not a BT?

BT is correct on the trim tag of an Arlington car. They never used an "R" on the trim tags on a 70 Chevelle.

Agreed here that the build sheet is fake. There are a couple of mistakes on this sheet for an Arlington car.

Which would be?

At just a quick glance there are at least 5 boxes that are filled incorrectly for an Arlington sheet, one box is missing a tracking code and you couldn't get an LS6 with 3.73's. I think that sums this one up.

Thank You. For us that aren't well versed (or versed at all :)) in build sheets and window stickers, specifics help.

It just floors me that people can get away with this kind of stuff and still sleep at night.

Cowl tag looks to be the only legit thing on the car.

I don't think the cowl tags right either Dave, the BT21816 tracking number looks too high for an 04C car. There's an 04E Arlington plate on Dales' site with a BT20229 tracking number and that's definately an old one from the pictures.

You guys are getting good at this!!!! Found most of the goofs on this one. I think the 63 amp alternator says it all. No 63 amp alternator was available with a deep groove pulley. The only one to have one was the 37 Amp #1100837 alternator.

No. Everything else is bogus on this car, so why not a bogus cowl tag?? :noway:

At first glance, it does look ok, but under scrutiny, it fails as well. :beers:

Is it possible this was an LS-6 from the factory and then restored with all the wrong pieces??? I still think there are more LS-6's now than there were in 1970 unfortunately.

I met somebody yesterday at a car show that said his was an original LS-6 70 Chevelle Convertible but it had Air Conditioning so I just kind listened to him for 10 minutes with a blah blah blah story. I just told him it was nice car and left it be.

Restored with incorrect parts is one thing, but selling it with fake paperwork is another.

This car is a joke. Period
It would be better off if the seller tossed that stupid bogus buildsheet and window sticker.

Agreed - totally bogus car and documentation. Anyone notice the bogus build sheet also has an "A" in the VIN instead of an R? And the trim tag looks brand new.

And as I've done in previous posts, I'm going to add the VIN info from the car so that a search on it here will bring up this post:

The 1970 Chevelle SS454 supposed LS6 with fake paperwork has VIN 136370R229179 and was for sale on ebay by kqql-1 in Cedarhurst, PA
