Use the search engine (top right hand corner of the web page), this topic has been discussed many times before, sometimes running into heated debates. Run the search, read the arguments from both sides and then decide.

Keywords to use: Ram Air, Cold air/cool air induction, cowl induction.

I responded to the original thread, but here I go again. I have this setup in my '68. I love it! If you run a HEI, the rear portion hits the dist, so it need to be cut out. Approx 2.5"x.50". I then re-fibreglass the cut out portion. Ram Air offers a piece of cellophane to cover the cut-out. That was pathetic especially when you paid extra for it.My battery was already in the trunck, so I routed the inlet hoses thru the hi-beams(delete).As far as performance increase goes, it ran the same in the 1/4 with no air cleaner on, compared to with the setup on. It's quite crisp at hiway speed though! Very cool looking in my opinion. E-mail me if you wish and I can send an exterior pic.

The benefits will be greater on the street as compared to the 1/4 mile.

It is my opinion that if you're running on the edge of detonation with pump gas, you increase your saftey margin with the remote air intake.

I also hate the sound of a sucking carb when I'm putting around. ( that's the reason I have used them, although not the ram air box )
