Depends on what block you have , first generation sbc block that had flat tappets will or may require the retro roller lifters, a rigid cam button or and cover and of course roller lifters.
The 87' and up blocks that were factory rollers are less expensive cantidates. The already have provisions for roller lifter retainer via spider bar and you can use the gm lifters. Just get the cam. They have front roller cam wear plate in lieu of button.
The retro roller may require differant length push rods. No big deal.

I believe you have a very notable member here that you could get a recommendation from, UD Harold. The cam father.

If it's a retro-fit cam and lifters you're going to go with, then your main need will be about $1000 dollars.

Thanks guys,

Well im thinking of doing it to the motor i have now or taking my time and build another shortblock on the side. So it would be best to go get a 87 and up block......

Thank you for your time

Yes, wish I had known this when I converted.
