Hello everyone,
I have a bit of a unique problem. My 72 chevelle has a old 350 crate motor that has been equipped with a serpentine belt system from a newer SBC. The chevelle's radiator is from a big block. The upper radiator hose has to take some pretty sharp angles to clear the alternator and fan. I picked up a stainless 24inch flextube to snake around the fan and alternator safely....but the hose only came in a 2 inch diameter, the old radiator hose was a 2.5 inch diameter. Hooking the ends of the hose to the radiator and thermostat housing is no problem because it came with some adaptors....My question is: is it a bad idea to run 2 inch hose instead of 2.5?? Will I starve my motor of coolant and overheat? Thanks!
